The vintage

2022 was a vintage of contrast. Commencing amid a glacial winter, the conditions prompted the vine to draw on its rich reserves and promote a budburst of quality. As early as May, the sunny character of the vintage made its presence felt and summer conditions were characterised by scorching temperatures 2.5°C above the norm. The vine grew rapidly, according the vintage its early profile.  Flowering commenced mid-May, rapid, even and generous. Although a heatwave summer, rain in June played a key role in building the vine’s resistance in the face of the drought conditions. Once again the vine demonstrated extreme resilience, boulstered by adapted viticultural practices in the vineyard. The weather during the harvest made it possible to have all the grape varieties at the optimal level of maturity. Rich, intense and sunny, 2022 is without doubt a great vintage.
