Château La Garde is a motion picture in its own right in which everyone has a key role to play. A theatre offering panoramic views of the surrounding nature, the Estate effuses an energy like no other, born of an unique terroir, a wealth of biodiversity and the all-important people who all have a part to play. Château La Garde produces fine, voluptuous wines on a mosaic of soils quite unique in Pessac-Léognan. From this diversity, only the best of the best is selected and masterfully honed and matured over time. Here in this very location, the destiny of these fine wines and their innate sense of place lies before it under the bright lights of France’s cinematic history.
An institution
Château La Garde is the exclusive official supplier of the 49th Cesar Awards ceremony. Valentin Jestin, Global Brand Director explains « We are honoured and proud to see our fine, terroir-driven wines grace the tables of the oldest, most illustrious ceremony in the history of French cinema. We are delighted with the idea of bringing our very own artistic creations, authenticity and passion to this exceptional evening. »
Wine and cinema: a heavenly alliance
Frédéric Bonnaffous, Chief Winemaker insists « When we create a wine, we love to reveal its personality and unique character born of the terroir. There are many connections linking wine and cinema: we only cast the very best to express a certain aesthetic, investing our heart and soul, meticulous detail and inevitably a part of ourselves. Our aim is to instil emotion. »
Our flagship wines
The wines to be showcased at the ceremony are: Château La Garde 2014, Château La Garde Blanc 2022, La Terrasse de La Garde 2018, and Dourthe No. 1 Blanc 2022.
For the magic of cinema to linger long after the Awards, Château La Garde is inviting visitors to take part in a unique experience immersed in nature only 2 hours from Paris by train. And in a fitting nod to the partnership, a Cesar statue will be on display at the estate throughout April and May 2024.
