Promesse de Dourthe is an uncomplicated, engaging wine, through which we want to deliver the purest, and most authenic fruit expression.
Resolutely modern, each wine is the fruit of a close partnership between our winemakers and our partner growers. Working together they determine the organically-cultivated plots most capable of producing grapes of the finest quality.

Terroir
The result of a chance encounter with a grower in Blaye, who has cultivated organic vines for more than a decade, Promesse de Dourthe launches in 2020 further to many years of research.
Promesse finds its birthplace in Blaye and Bourg. This magnificent region, known as «Gironde’s little Switzerland » for its lush, rural green hills, is located to the north-west of Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Gironde, opposite Medoc.
Here it is known for its production of delicious wines with remarkable juicy freshness, notably on the clay-limestone slopes that we tend to favour for this wine.
Winemaking and ageing
For Promesse de Dourthe, every effort is ploughed into delivering the purest fruit expression:
– Fermentation in stainless-steel tank, and cold pre-fermentation maceration if required
– The wine is matured in stainless-steel, and racked several times, before bottling in the Dourthe cellars.
We waited for the right time to launch the wine, when the wine was at its peak, and at the pinnacle of all it can offer.
Sustainably-led
The wine in its entirety is produced sustainably. In addition to its organic certification, eco-practices include recycled paper, lightweight glass bottles, kraft paper and DIAM cork sourced from sustainable forests.
The image featured on the label is a tribute not only to the vines and grapes, but also promotes the bountiful flora from this magnificent region, comprising heather, roses, vines and mimosa.
Mimosa tends to flower early, like the promise of the arrival of spring, and symbolises the eternal circle of nature, which punctuates our lives.
