This year, Maison Dourthe has made the ambitious decision to join the bottle deposit return scheme (DRS) in partnership with the company Bout‘ à Bout’, for Promesse de Dourthe 2022.
An Eco-Friendly Model
In a world where reducing our ecological footprint is essential, reusing bottles offers the most sustainable solution compared to single-use or recycling. As such, Promesse de Dourthe 2022, a wine made from organic farming, will now be part of a bottle return system, marking a key step toward a circular economy model.
Each detail of this wine has been designed with an eco-friendly approach: FSC-certified recycled paper, eco-friendly cork, and no capsule. By adopting the bottle return system, we help reduce energy consumption by 79%, greenhouse gas emissions by 79%, and save one-third of the water needed to produce a new bottle (source: ADEME).
By joining the bottle return system, we are taking a pioneering step in the wine industry. This initiative marks a new phase in the valorization of raw materials, providing a genuine solution for the circular economy and a model of sustainability.

The concept of the bottle return system is straightforward: after enjoying Promesse de Dourthe, you return the bottle to a designated partner collection point marked with the national bottle return symbol. Bout’ à Bout’ takes care of collecting, cleaning, and redistributing the reused bottles to producers.
Promesse de Dourthe 2022 is the purest expression of the Blayais-Bourgeais terroir, a region renowned for its fresh, fruity wines. This 100% Merlot reveals generous aromas of raspberry, strawberry, and black cherry, offering an explosion of fruit on the palate and a velvety texture, highlights Frédéric Bonnaffous, Director of Wines at Dourthe.
